Unfortunately, I didn't find that out for myself until I was about thirty years old.  But thank God
that I know now!  I had always hoped in God and the things of God, but I never really believed,
though I did want to find out the truth.  Then there came a time in my life when I was so in
need spiritually that I decided to take a look and see if God showed up; If He was really who He
said He was, or even if He... was.  If you go looking for God, be prepared to believe Him when
He shows up.  According to the Bible, you won't even have the desire to know God without His
calling you, so expect to see Him!  I remember saying, "Okay, God, (like I'm going to bargain
with Him) I never could understand half of the stuff in the Bible, what I've read of it anyway,
much less believe it.  But this time I'm really going to believe everything I read unless I find
something that I know for certain based on fact not to be true."  You see, I was willing to
believe no matter how easy it was NOT to believe, especially with people being raised from the
dead, the parting of the Red Sea, and virgins having babies and so forth.  From the minute I
decided to give God the benefit of a doubt, I've never been the same.  You see its all about
choice.  I've learned that.  You have to choose to believe what His Word, the Bible, says about
the character of a loving and really cool God.  From the moment I decided to believe God
everything looked different, sounded different, and I found myself with new "spiritual eyes" that
showed me a lot about how The Lord sees people.  Choosing to believe also meant that I could
believe what the Bible says about Jesus.  He is the only one to have ever claimed to be "of God"
and equal to God.  He said He was there at the creation of the world and that He will be at the
right hand of God when this world is finally redeemed.  What a relief it was to me not to have to
sift through the Bible, trying figure out what was and was not truth.  In part, I guess that's
what Jesus meant when He said, "My peace I leave with you."  If you really want to know the
truth, just be willing to believe it when God shows you.  Its so awesome to know that God sees
Jesus instead of my sin when He looks at me.  And no matter what I do, God will never let go of
me or forget me.  These are exciting times for all believers, and there's never been a better
time to really find out.    I hope you find God soon, if you haven't already.  He knows you, so
you may want to get to know Him, right?  God Bless.

Some things the Bible says about Jesus..

16 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all Creation.  For by Him all things
were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or
dominions or principalities or powers.  All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And
He is before all things, and in Him, all things consist.   (Colossians 1:16-17)

"Let not your heart be troubled; You believe in God, believe also in Me." (john 14:1)

"
I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me."
(john 14:6)

10 "
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.  In the world you will
have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world
."

27"
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal
life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand
."
(john 10:27-28)

11
For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. 18 What do you think?  If a man
has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go
to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?  13. And if he should find it, assuredly, I say
to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.  14
Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should
perish
.   (Matthew 18:11-14)
